The Greenville Police Department received a tip recently in reference to a man reportedly stealing property and selling it in Greenville. The police say an informant tipped them off that stolen utility trailers were being sold in the Walmart parking lot.

Police arranged for their informant to buy something from him. Police met and arrested the man Wednesday afternoon.

Dexter Allen, 26, from the Birmingham was arrested and charged with felony possession of a firearm and selling stolen property.

Allen was armed at the time of arrest and is also a previously convicted felon.

Allen is being held in the Butler County Jail and is facing multiple charges. No bond has been set yet, as other counties are still conducting investigations on him.
