Friday night, the Greenville Police Department responded to a ‘shots fired’ call at the American Legion. Chief Lovvorn said that once on scene, officers learned a fight had broken out during a party. It was during the fight that the suspect brandished a handgun and began firing at the victim.

The victim, Kenterrian Johnson, 29 of Fort Deposit was hit multiple times in the abdomen area. Johnson was airlifted to a Baptist hospital in Montgomery where he passed away due to his injuries. When officers arrived at the scene the victim had already been taken to the emergency room by a personal vehicle and the suspect had fled the scene.

De’Sean Powell, 19, of Greenville has been identified as the alleged shooter. Powell was then taken into custody and charged with murder. He is currently being held in the Butler County jail.
