Family, friends and co-workers gathered last Tuesday night to join 14 Butler County School System employees in a retirement celebration.

Retiring are Kathy Atchison, secretary at Central Office, 27-years of service; Linda Barefield, bus driver at the Transportation Department, 27-years of service; Voncile Blackmon, CNP worker at Greenville Middle School, 19-years of service; Patricia Brown, Psychometrist at Central Office, 28-years of service; Carolyn Foil, English teacher at Greenville High School, 28-years of service; Mignon Foster, Special Education teacher at Greenville Elementary, 27-years of service; Michael Gunter, principal at McKenzie School, 27-years of service; Mary Herbert, Special Education Aide at Greenville Middle School, 30-years of service; Karen Higgins, PE teacher at Georgiana School, 25-years of service; Abbie Jackson, Math teacher at Greenville High School, 27-years of service; Tracy Mills, Maintenance Supervisor at Central Office, 32-years of service; Alene Norris, Instructional Aide at Greenville High School, 27-years of service; Jennie Scott, Bus Driver at Transportation Department, 24.5-years of service; Donna Waller, Bus Driver at Transportation Department, 25-years of service. A total of 373.5 years of service.

Board member, Linda Hamilton said,” You have served the children of Butler County. We were never able to pay you what you were worth, so you really served out of the goodness of your heart. We really, really appreciate it, we appreciate everything you have done.”

Retirees we served dinner catered by Brenda Lee, dietitian at Greenville Middle School.
