Daphene Gregory
Graveside services for the late Ms. Daphene Gregory were held on June 21 at 11 a.m. from Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Robert Shuford officiating and Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directing.
Daphene Gregory was born on May 25, 1957 in Greenville to Lelia Pearl Shepherd and Joe Poole, who preceded her in death.
Daphene was educated in the Alabama school system and as a young determined woman she moved to Detroit. She became employed at General Motors from 1977 until she retired in 2008.
Daphene lived, loved and enjoyed life to the fullest and anyone who came in contact with her loved her because there was never a dull moment in her company and she especially loved family gatherings.
On October 30,1982 Daphene gave birth to the joy of her life, her daughter Tamika Gregory. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest moments in her life. She was a loving and protective mother. Daphene was a loving person, giving openly to help and encourage others. Her hobbies included fishing, bingo and her stories which were never to be interrupted.
Daphene made her transition from this life on June 11 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Mich.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Tamika Gregory; her brother, Michael Shepherd (Sharon); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She also leaves special friends Debra Wilson and La Donna Vanbelle (Sher).
