BETTYE JOYCE KELLEY GAFFORD

 

Gafford, Bettye Joyce Kelley, age 76, a resident of Honoraville passed away on July 5, in the care of L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital of Greenville, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were on July 7 at 11p.m. from the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home of Greenville with Minister Tim Gafford and Minister Jerry Barlow officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Interment followed at the County Line Church of Christ Church Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Gafford was preceded in death by: her husband, David Earl Gafford; parents, Vastine and Louise Cauthen Kelley; and brother, Kendrick Kelley.

Mrs. Gafford is survived by: her two beloved daughters, Debbie (Mike) Green of Cecil and Sheila (Chuck) Lear of Honoraville; three grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Green of Glenwood, Whitney McClelland of Pike Road and Alyssa Lear of Honoraville; three great-grandchildren, Will, Lane and Jace McClelland all of Pike Road; brothers, Herman (Annette) Kelley and Sam Kelley all of Luverne; two aunts, Anna Laura Kelley Barganier of Greenville and Vela (Gilbert) Pugh of Pine Apple; special and honorable cousin, Jack Pollard of Luverne; as well as a special and honorable niece, Nelda Moseley. Mrs. Gafford also left behind several other cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.

Pallbearers included: Jerome Brewer, Connor Windham, Yancey Kelley, Danny Brooks, Allen Oswald, Michael Kelley and Tim Kelley. Honorary Pallbearer was Jack Pollard.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Harry Barnes and his staff at the Montgomery Cancer Center and Dr. Brandon Slagley and the staff of L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital.
