Soon thousands of women will converge at police and sheriff’s departments around the nation. These women will be armed with hand-made cards, snacks, waters, hugs and prayers.

Beautifully Designed, an online Bible study community, is sponsoring Back the Blue Day. According to the Beautifully Designed website, “It’s time the women of Beautifully Designed rise up and share HIS light.”

Locally, Melisa Campbell is organizing her own Back the Blue Day. Items will be taken to the Greenville Police Department and Butler County Sherriff’s Office.

If anyone would like to donate, Campbell says she is collecting pre-packaged snack and would love to give each officer a $10 gift card. Monetary donations can also be made to First United Methodist Church of Greenville and then the church will give money to the departments.

Campbell said, “Todd and I decided that most people would like to do something nice for the people protecting our city and county so we followed the lead of some of our friends across the nation. With all the tragedies lately involving police officers, we wanted to show our appreciation and support to let them know #WeBackBlue.”
