ROBERT E. HIGDON

Higdon, Robert E., age 75, of Northport died July 7, at home. Services were held at 10 a.m. July 9 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Ed Steelman officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider directing. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Ruth Higdon.

Survivors include: his wife, Bobbye Jean Higdon of Northport; sons, Danny Higdon (Mitzi) of Northport, David Higdon (Debbie) of Northport, John Higdon (Jackie) of Birmingham; sister, Betty Brown (Grant) of McKenzie; brother, James Higdon (Linda) of Birmingham; grandchildren, Zach (Amanda), Molly, Luke (Helen), Jake, Haley (Kirt), Daniel, Taylor, Alyssa Higdon; and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Elizabeth and Addison Mae.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He spent his career building cable systems all over the country. He loved spending time with his family and attending Alabama football games.

Pallbearers were Zach, Luke and Jake Higdon and Sid, Steve and Hal Brown. Honorary pallbearer was Daniel Higdon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Grain Game Missionary Organization or St. Jude Children’s Hospital Research Hospital.
