Council approves liquor license

The Greenville City Council met last Monday night to approve ABC Special Retail License (#150) for the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. for their fall supper event that will be held Oct. 20.   The Council also authorized a three-year agreement with Republic Services for Sherling Lake Park dumpster service.

Expenditures approved were Hartley & Hickman in the amount of $1,750.00 for June legal fees; Emergency Equipment Professionals in the amount of $2,260.15 to repair aerial plumbing on Fire Truck #30; McKinley Tire in the amount of $1,423.20 for four tires for Fire Engine #42 and the Country Hearth Inn in the amount of $1,749.75 for Firefighter Certification School expense for Stewart Boutwell.

The city council would also like to remind everyone that the Kiwanis Club’s Butler County Fair is right around the corner from Sept. 28-Oct. 1; Trick or Treat on Commerce Street is being held Oct. 31 from 5:30-7 p.m.; and the next regular council meeting will be held Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
