Four years ago Richard Branum and Annie Glenn Braden asked me to come on board as the publisher of The Greenville Standard. I gladly accepted their offer.
With no prior experience in newspaper, I walked into that newspaper office on my first day more nervous than any other point in my life. Richard and Annie believed I could do it and I wasn’t about to let them down.
The Lord blessed me with many people who made this job so much easier than it should have been. I have worked with and met some of Butler, Lowndes and Monroe County’s best while working as the publisher here.
Not only have I met and worked with the best, but I have most certainly worked for the best and that would be you my dear readers. Thank you all so much for viewing The Greenville Standard as a trusted news source.
Typing this is bittersweet for me because it will be my last submission to The Greenville Standard as publisher. The most recent news within the newsroom is that of my resignation.
Knowing that I could leave this gem in the capable hands of Bruce Branum, I recently accepted a position with another local business.
I am going to miss my little Standard family, which is full of some of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals I know.
Thank you all for trusting and believing in me. I will see you around.
