Georgiana police officers walked off the job Monday morning over “administrative differences,” said Georgiana Mayor Jerome Antone. He added, “The citizens of Georgiana can rest assured they will be protected. You are safe and things will be worked out.”
Butler County Sheriff, Kenny Harden, said that he was contacted by Mayor Antone early Monday morning with a request for assistance. He then told Mayor Antone that the Sheriff’s Department would provide deputies to cover missing personnel. Harden added, “I have contacted the State Trooper office and they will provide assistance with vehicular accidents within the city limits of Georgiana.
