ANNIE MYRA OSWALD POUNCEY

 

 

Pouncey, Annie Myra Oswald, 92, a resident of Greenville died at Crowne Health Care on Nov. 1. The funeral service was held Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church with Reverend Eugene Elder officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held Nov. 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pouncey was born on Jan. 6, 1924 to Levi and Exa Oswald and was the only daughter of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard France Pouncey; parents and siblings. She is survived by her sons, Howard D. Pouncey (Beverly) and Billy R. Pouncey (Barbara); her grandchildren, Diana (Tim) Spahr, Susanne (Mark) Cheavens, Sally Poe, Phillip (Becky) Pouncey and Michael (Allison) Pouncey. She also has 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and to include five generations of lives touched.

Mrs. Pouncey was a well-respected and beloved member of the Pigeon Creek Community. She loved to worship through song and genuinely engaged doing the Lord’s work by supporting her community with constant hospitality and goodwill. Her endeavors included hosting decades’ worth of family gatherings, beautiful gardens and sharing her love with those she came into contact with.

She will be loved and missed by all.
