Greenville’s own Marlon Davidson was named to the coaches All-SEC Freshman team on Thursday. Davidson began his college football career as the first true freshman to start on Auburn’s defensive line since 1985.

Marlon started each of the Tigers’ 12 games.

Davidson ended his first year with 35 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. There is still one more game for the Tigers’ so those statistics will surely go up.

Davidson is a 2015 graduate of Greenville High School. In high school Davidson was picked for the Under Armour All-America Game and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game. He was named AWSA Super 12 and Class 5A lineman of the year.

Marlon will take to the field for the last time this season on Jan. 2 against Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. Be sure to tune your televisions and watch Marlon do what he does best.
