Although Relay for Life is not until May 12, the Harley’s Angels team is already working hard to organize several events for 2017 that will benefit the American Cancer Society through the Relay for Life program.
April Langford and Sherry Henson are coordinating activities for the team.
Langford shared information about some upcoming events, which include a pageant and a benefit bash that will feature a cook-off competition.
The first event will be the Miss Relay 2017 Beauty Pageant, which will take place on Feb. 11 at the Ritz.
According to Langford, “This pageant is for all ages from newborns to great-grandmothers. We have a category for everyone, even you men!”
The pageant will have multiple categories for children of all ages, teens, and adults. Men will be able to compete in a Mister Relay category.
Langford said the pageant forms are ready and can be emailed to those interested in participating. Deadline for entry is Feb. 1.
On March 18, the Harley’s Angels Relay for Life team will have a benefit bash at the Butler County Fairgrounds.
“The benefit bash will consist of vendor booth rentals, barbeque competition, raffles, and DJ during the day and live bands in the evening,” said Langford. “King of the Grill cook-off competition, we hope will be huge. We have chefs coming to judge the competition and a people’s choice award.”
Langford added she hopes the community will support these events because the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
“This will be the last year of Harley’s Angels Relay for life team,” said Langford, “so we hope it will be the biggest and best one yet.”
