Cedrick Poole, 35, an inmate of the Butler County Correctional Facility escaped Tuesday, Dec. 27 and was then caught on Friday at approximately 12:50 p.m. at a residence on Kolb City Road.

Butler County Sheriff Kenny Hardin reported that Poole had achieved “trustee” status and had been allowed by a guard to retrieve some ice in the sally port. Once being let out Poole made his break by crawling under a roll gate on the side of the facility.

A female accomplice, Katrina Hamilton, was waiting nearby with a vehicle and they drove away. She was arrested early Friday morning at 1:30 a.m. at a residence on Aztec Road.

Poole was arrested in October for possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation. Butler County Authorities were aided by U.S Marshals and video coverage of the facility.

Sheriff Hardin said, “We will be attending to the gate issue this following week so that this problem does not happen again and until then any inmate entering the sally port will be supervised.”
