Mountain Heart performing at Ritz

Mountain Heart
The Greenville Area Arts Council (GAAC) will host the band Mountain Heart this Saturday night as part of its 35th season.
The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Ritz in downtown Greenville.
According to the band’s website, Mountain Heart is comprised of members Josh Shilling, Aaron Ramsey, Seth Taylor, Jeff Partin and Molly Cherryholmes.
The band specializes in acoustic music and will be playing several tracks off their new album “Blue Skies.”
The members of the band have been recognized for their musical achievements with many awards, and they have performed with some of the most recognized names in both the rock and country music genres.
Mountainheart.com states, “Mountain Heart or members have been nominated for Grammy’s, ACM, CMA awards. The band has also been nominated for and won multiple IBMA’s. They have appeared on the revered stage of the Grand Ole Opry in excess of 130 times, and have shared the stage with acts ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Montgomery Gentry, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Brad Paisley to Alison Krauss, Tony Rice, The Avett Brothers, Yonder Mountain Stringband, The Punch Brothers, Levon Helm, John Fogerty and many more.”
GAAC Director Nancy Idland said she is looking forward to this event and hopes area residents will enjoy the performance.
“The Arts Council is excited to bring this young, dynamic group to our stage,” said Idland. “We listened to your wishes, and we are presenting a rare Saturday night show for your enjoyment. We hope that you will make plans to be at the theatre on Saturday night.”
Idland added the show will be followed by a post-performance party at First Realty. All audience members are invited to attend.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at McFerrin’s Jewelry, The Pineapple or The Medicine Shoppe, or they can be purchased on the night of the performance.
Cost of tickets is $20 for adults and $15 for students.
