Williams earns Co-op Manager of the Year

On Wednesday Feb. 22, J. Ryan Williams was presented the E.P. Garrett Award for Co-Op Manager of the Year. The E.P. Garrett Award is presented to one manager statewide. The award was presented by Rivers Myrs at the Renaissance Convention Center in Montgomery and William’s family was present to watch him receive the award.
Williams has worked for the Co-Op for 10 years and has been the manager at the Quality Co-Operative of Butler County since December of 2010.
This year was the first year that Williams became eligible to receive the award. Williams stated “It’s something that I have always wanted to achieve.”
In order to win the award a Co-Op manager must excel in six areas; Profit (net margin/sales), Year average (year avg AR/sales), Growth (sales this year/sales previous 3 years), INV turns (avg inv/cost of sales), Net income/sales percent and they are required to be profitable for five years consecutively.
Williams attributed his success to the Butler County community. “We are grateful for their patronage and their support of the Co-Op, ” Williams remarked before adding, “at the Co-Op we try to treat people right, we try to do what we say we are going to do.”
