Another Georgiana Panther is headed to play football at the next level.
Jayden Longmire, 5 ft. 10 in. 300 lb. offensive lineman, signed to play for the Point University Skyhawks last Thursday.
Point University is a four year Christian university in West Point, Georgia.
Jayden took his time in determining where he wanted to play football and was looking for the school that would give him the “biggest bang for his buck.”
“Jayden had been recruited by several schools,” said Georgiana Head Coach Ezell Powell. “After taking a visit to Point, he came back to me and said that is where he saw himself.”
Longmire has been a true leader on and off the field for the Georgiana Panthers. “He is a good kid and always worked hard for me.”
Jayden is in the top of his graduating class and was named Most Improved Lineman during his junior year. This year, he graded out at 80 percent each game with 38 pancakes.
“Jayden always helped with the young players,” said Coach Powell. “He taught them how to win and that the strength of the team starts up front, at the linemen. He told them to get accustomed to the hard work they had to put in to be a good lineman.”
Longmire joins teammate Zeke Powell in signing to play football in college. Powell signed to play at the University of South Alabama earlier in February.
