The FDA Eagles baseball and softball teams travelled to play in a Lowndes Academy tournament this weekend with the boys going 2-2 and the girls going 3-2.
The Lady Eagles came in second in their tournament and Head Coach Josh Ritter said, “This group of ladies are so much fun to coach. I am super proud of the fight that is in this group of girls.”
Ritter’s team beat Coosa Valley in their first game Thursday, 11-1. They lost to Lowndes 6-4 in their second game. On Saturday, the Eagles beat Coosa Valley again 9-4 and went on to win against Evangel 17-5 before losing to Macon East 15-0.
The FDA boys did not fare as well as the girls in the tournament. They won two games on Thursday, one against Evangel 11-5 and the other against Lowndes 7-2. Jason Whittle was the winning pitcher against Evangel and Luke Taylor pitched for the win against Lowndes.
On Saturday, Northside beat FDA 8-5 and Lowndes did the same winning 2-1.
Braxton Daniels made the All-Tourney Team.
