The Greenville Tigers defeated the McKenzie Tigers in a close game last Monday 8-7. This was the second win against McKenzie for Greenville this season.

The Greenville Tigers earned their 8 runs off of 14 hits. Chris Bedgood batted 3 for 3 with three singles. Heath Crawford and Joseph Price both took the mound during the game. They threw a combined 13 strikeouts, 12 walks and hit two with pitch.

The McKenzie Tigers were led at the plate by William Brown who had 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Jackson Vickery, Kaegun Jones and Brown all pitched for McKenzie. They threw a combined 7 strikeouts and 5 walks.

“I am extremely proud of the way our guys fought,” said Greenville coach Hunter Armstrong. “Every time McKenzie made a play we came right back out and did the same. It is our first experience this season with a close game and I thought our guys responded very well.”

McKenzie coach Tony Norris thought his team competed better with Greenville than the weekend before.” The game was back and forth for most of the game and the kids played hard the entire game.”

Greenville will play tomorrow at Andalusia. Junior varsity is scheduled to play at 4:30 with varsity following that game.
