The McKenzie Lady Tigers fell to Pleasant Home twice last week, ending the week 0-2 in area play.

The Lady Eagles traveled to McKenzie on Tuesday and flew away with an 18-0 win against the Lady Tigers.

Kaitlyn Padgett, senior Lady Tigers pitcher, pitched the entire game. She struck out five and allowed 19 hits and walked four.

The Lady Tigers struck out a total of six times and walked once. However, the Lady Tigers had no hits as the Lady Eagles made the defensive plays to keep the Lady Tigers scoreless.

On Thursday, the Lady Tigers took their turn on the road as they traveled to Pleasant Home. However, their ride back was long after losing 18-4.

Padgett again took the mound and pitched all five innings. She only struck out one batter and allowed fourteen hits and walked five batters.

The Lady Tigers showed a little improvement at the plate with eight hits. Dana Richey batted 2-for-2 and Amber Macks batted 2-for-3 with a single, double and an RBI.

“These were both tough losses for us,” said Coach Matt Coghlan. “We did not compete well at all at home Tuesday and we had a rough start on Thursday. But, I was proud of the way we kept fighting and managed to put together a couple of good innings.”

The Lady Tigers will return to the field the week after Spring Break with three games. They will host Highland Home on Tuesday, Hillcrest on Thursday and travel to Florala on Friday.

“The girls are looking forward to the second half of the season,” said Coach Coghlan. “I think if they continue to work we can be a much better team by the end of April.”

All three games played next week will begin at 4:00.
