ANNE CARTER-GOLDEN

 

Anne Carter Gordon, 67, passed away Saturday April 8, 2017. Graveside services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Joe Lisenby officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. At 4:30 pm in Fairhope, a memorial service was held on top of the bluff across from 220 North Bayview St.  Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Thomas Ewing Carter Jr and Mrs. Anne Beeland Carter of Greenville. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Gordon; sons, George Carter Gordon, Elliott Ewing Gordon and William Bolling Gordon; daughter, Kathleen Blair Gordon; brother, Thomas Ewing Carter III; sister, Leah Carter Leidner; grandchildren, Virginia Payton Gordon, Ewing Carter Gordon and Charles Preston Gordon.  Anne was born and raised in Greenville and a long term resident of Fairhope. She attended Huntington College and Auburn University where she studied special education. She was a charter member of the Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church in Montrose and was a former member of Fairhope United Methodist Church. She was among the original Maids of Jubilee Mardi Gras Association in Fairhope and served for the League of Young Women of the Eastern Shore.  Anne was the neighborhood mom, fabulous cook, faithful wife and sweet friend, mother and sister who was loved by all who met her.
