Southside Baptist to host WellHouse speaker
APRIL RICHEY/THE GREENVILLE STANDARD
Southside Baptist Church is hosting special guest speaker, Tajuan McCarty, on June 25 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Tajuan is coming to share her testimony and the importance of the ministry behind The WellHouse.
The WellHouse is a rescue and recovery organization for women who are victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. They seek to rescue and provide opportunities for restoration to victims of human trafficking who have been sexually exploited while also educating the public on the exploitation of the vulnerable, all through the power and principles of the Christian faith.
The Wellhouse is a place of Grace, and they provide many opportunities to extend God’s Grace to victims.
According to Tajuan, there are several levels to the program beginning with the initial call to the crisis line. After a rescue, they employ a multidisciplinary approach as they address all areas of need while also providing a Trauma Informed Care Approach to services. It begins with offering a safe environment where trust begins to grow.
The Wellhouse is committed to ongoing awareness efforts, including presentations to schools (counselors, teachers and students) statewide, as well as training sessions for civic and law enforcement organizations. Each presentation contributes to the effort and role of the Wellhouse helping to eradicate the evil of human trafficking in our society.
Tajuan is the founder of The Wellhouse and has used her passion for the issue to develop the nonprofit organization into a faith based and Christ centered agency dedicated to rescuing women. Since The Wellhouse is a nonprofit, it relies on donations to help with the program. Gift cards, postage stamps, cleaning products, paper products, non-perishable items and NEW ladies undergarments are just a few of the items needed.
The public is invited to attend.
If you or someone you know needs The Wellhouse, please do not hesitate to call them toll-free at 1-800-991-0948. The phone line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a trained and caring rescue coordinator who truly wants to help you. You can also email The Wellhouse at info@the-wellhouse.org.
