HERSTON DEWAYNE “WAYNE” MYRICK

 

Herston Dewayne “Wayne” Myrick, 66, died at his home on Sept. 21, 2017. A celebration of life service was held Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Reverend Joe Leverette officiated and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directed. Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Myrick was preceded in death by his parents, Herston and Nellie Myrick; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Tiny Smith; brothers-in-law, Danny Smith and Tommy Morgan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan Dianne Smith Myrick; children, Herston Lynn Myrick (Amber), Roger Glenn Myrick (Jamie), Brandy Smith Morris (Stephen); honorary son, Robert Gates; grandchildren, Alynn Myrick, Albry Myrick, Morgan Norris, Alden Myrick, Avrey Myrick, Anna Myrick; sisters, Gail Myrick Morgan, Dianne Myrick Burress (Richard); sister-in-law, Lynn Smith Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Myrick served in the US Navy on USS Hunley as an AS.31 for four years. He worked for Clement Motor Company from 1975-1996.  From 1996-2016 he was an Owner and Master Auto Tech at Bob and Wayne’s Auto Repair.

His family would like to thank his lifelong best friend, Jerry Owens, Lillie Black, Bobby Cole and all the ‘safety meeting members’, Travis Goldsmith, Billy Joe Nixon, John and Kitty Lamkin and “the sexy tractor”, and the many other family and friends for all of their loving support.
