Ollie Scott, the Butler County Coroner Elect who had recently been arrested for an altercation with a neighbor which involved a handgun, received notice the charge has been official dropped.

On Sept. 14 the claimant officially dropped the charges and was duly signed by District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer.

Scott said, “It was a misunderstanding over water service. I want to thank my supporters and I plan to uphold the duties of the office of Coroner of Butlery County to the best of my ability. I am looking forward to serving in capacity as coroner for the upcoming term.”

Scott, who won the democratic primary, is currently running unopposed in the Nov. 6 general election. If Scott wins the election, he will be the first black to hold a county-wide elected position in Butler County.
