HORACE PETE BRANUM

Funeral services for Mr. Pete Branum were held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Bro. Richie Davis and Bro. Mike Russell officiating. A private family graveside was held at the Mississippi Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Branum, 83, of Lauderdale, Miss. passed away on Sunday, July 21 at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

Mr. Branum was born in Greenville, Ala. He was an Army Veteran, FFA Leader, an active member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Lauderdale. Pete was also a mentor of many young men and women, a spiritual leader, a retired farmer, and a City of Meridian employee.

Survivors include his wife, Margie “Jane” Branum; five children, Ronnie, Donnie, Tim, Jonathon, and Julie; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Bob; sister, Judy; and his pet, Marley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eldon Branum; a brother, Hansel Branum; and his dog, Willie.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 24 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
