George Wayne Mullins, 79, a resident of Greenville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, May 29, 2020.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 1, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating and Dunklin and Daniels Funeral home directing.
Mr. Mullins was well known in Luverne by everyone. He was full of life and never met a stranger bringing a smile to everyone he met. He worked with the Crenshaw County School System as a bus driver for over 20 years.
During this time, he had a significant impact on many children’s lives and treated them as if they were his own. When he was not on the school bus route, Mr. Mullins spent his time as a poultry farmer working alongside his wife to provide for his family as well as many individuals that worked for him on the poultry farm.
He will be remembered by his loved ones as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will truly be missed by all.
Mr. Mullins was preceded in death by his parents Verdie and Cumi Mullins.
He is survived by his spouse of 61 years Joan Mullins; daughter Mona Mullins; two grandchildren, Dexter Jackson and Chris Jackson; sister Shirley Rolling; and sister in law Mary Alice Simpkins.
Active pallbearers were Dexter Jackson, Chris Jackson, Anthony Gregory, Victor Maldonado, and I.V. McKee.
