SARAH TAYLOR

Graveside service for Mrs. Sarah Taylor, 98, of Georgiana were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 22, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Allen Stephenson and Bro. Eddie Holder officiating. The family received friends from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Taylor passed away Thursday in Georgiana.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Black (Jan); grandchildren, Betsy Pearcey (Kevin) and Jenna Thomas (Seth); great grandchildren, Brickley Thomas, Sarah Pearcey and Norah Pearcey; sisters, Annie Hyde, Nell Morris, and Doris Kalanian; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30+ years, Paul “Sweetie” Taylor; daughter, Elizabeth Taylor; granddaughter, Shannon Black; four siblings; and her parents Perry and Effie Shepherd.

She was the oldest living member of First Baptist of Georgiana having spent 76 years in very active attendance where she taught Sunday school and Bible School. She was the spirit of the ladies Sunday School class.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
