Funeral service for Mrs. Audrey Mae Peavy, 95, of McKenzie, was held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday May 12, at Johnson Funeral Home with Brother Dene McCoy officiating. Burial followed at South Butler Cemetery. The family received friends from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Peavy passed away Monday, May 10, in Georgiana.

Survivors include her children, Judy Odom (Lester), Tony Peavy (Sue), and JoAnn Wingard; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Curtis Peavy; children, Frances Mozingo and Curtis Dewayne Peavy; sons-in-law, Bill Mozingo and Tommy Wingard; and her five brothers.

Pallbearers were Jason Peavy, Blair Peavy, Kevin Wingard, Tommy Wingard, Kenneth Peavy, and Jason Greene.

Mrs. Peavy worked as a seamstress for most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She loved going to McKenzie Football games. She was a longtime member of McKenzie Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Georgiana Health and Rehab for their loving care of Mrs. Peavy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association.
