WILLIAM COBB

July 16, 1941 – Aug. 23, 2021

Graveside service for Mr. William “Billy” Cobb, 80, of Georgiana, was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Brother Terry Cook officiating. The family received friends Friday night from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Funeral home. Mr. Cobb passed away on Monday at his home.

He is survived by daughter, Kristi Newmeyer (Brian); grandchild, Colin Newmeyer (Jordan); great grandchildren, Regan, Logan, and Mary Reid; siblings, Shirley Green, and Opal Cobb; several nieces and nephews; and his special companion, Jane.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Cobb; sister, Patricia Garrett; parents Leon Cobb and Eva McLeod; and step father Farrell McLeod.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

Mr. Cobb was a good ol’ country boy who loved to hunt and fish and farm his land. He retired from the U.S National Guard. Mr. Cobb loved his Chihuahua, Baxter. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed.
