MARY LOU BURKETT

Graveside Service for Mrs. Mary Lou Burkett, 90, of Georgiana, was held at Love’s Way Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 with Rev. Mike Holcomb officiating. Mrs. Burkett passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Greenville.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Burkett; grandchildren, Chris Moore (Chrissy), Tony McInvale (Gerald), Stephanie Boswell (David), and Charlie Burkett (Carrie); ten great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Wagnon and Judy Wiggins (Doyle); brother, Sherrill Nichols (Marie); and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Stanley Burkett; son, Tommy Burkett; brothers, Joe Nichols, Jack Nichols, and Charles Nichols; and her parents Wesley and Julia Nichols.

Pallbearers were Tim Burkett, Patrick Odom, Timothy Gorum, Dylan Giddens, Gerald McInvale, and Anthony Wagnon.

She was a founding member of Love’s Way Church. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a terrific mom and wonderful wife.
