Funeral Service for Mrs. Edna Ruth Mitchell, 80, of Fort Deposit, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Red Level. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday night at the funeral home. Mrs. Mitchell passed away at her home on Friday, Oct. 1.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Mitchell Sr.; children Dody Nettles (J.D), Harry Neil Mitchell Jr., and Amy Russell (Paul); grandchildren Laramie Copeland (Chris), Landon Matthews (Greyson), Tyler and Leif Nettles, Tobey Mitchell (Daryll), Danielle Hollyfield (Michael), and Mitchell and Turner Patterson; great grandchildren Mary Turner Copeland, Harrison Matthews, Tyler and Brayden and Cameron Hollyfield, and Aidin and Gantt Mitchell; brother, Daniel Turner (Gail); and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Daniel and Bernice Turner; and sister, Mildred Pierce.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mitchell, Tobey Mitchell, Michael Hollyfield, Mitchell Patterson, Turner Patterson, and Tyler Hollyfield.

She enjoyed gardening, singing, and shopping. She loved to rescue animals. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
