DOROTHY SCOTT

Funeral services for Dorothy Scott were held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. from Ridgeville Baptist Churchyard Cemetery in Forest Home. Pastor Demus Smith officiated.  Hudson Funeral Service directed.

Mrs. Dorothy Scott was born Sept. 21, 1937 to the late Charlie Sr. and Icy Adams in Butler County, Alabama.

She was united in holy matrimony to Harry Scott, Sr., in 1953 and upon their union she joined Ridgeville Baptist Church. She was a very faithful member, and very dedicated to the Ridgeville Choir.

Dorothy was employed at Boss Manufacturer for a number of years. Her favorite hobby was fishing. She and her husband served as foster parents for several years, she was a mother to many.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Deacon Harry Scott, Sr.; son, Larry Scott; 12 brothers and seven sisters.

Dorothy departed this life on Friday, Oct. 15. She leaves to cherish  her memories eight beautiful children, Heloise Womack of Mobile, Harry (Erika) Scott, Jr., of Greenville, Elizabeth (Donnie) Byrd of Pembroke, Ga., Tony (Joy) Scott of Tuscaloosa, and Wanda (Calvin) Coleman, John (Lisa) Scott, Veronica (Tim) Henderson all of Greenville, and Derrick Scott of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; two sisters, Alice Upshaw and Tissue Hamilton; a sister-in-law; devoted daughter-in-law, Shirley Hamilton; devoted cousin, Augustine Wilson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
