Funeral Service for Mr. J.V. McLain Jr., 78, of Greenville, was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Gaston officiating. Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday night at Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. McLain passed away at his home on Wednesday.

He is survived by his wife of 55+ years, Edwina McLain; daughters, Susan Carol Lambert (Trea), Bridget Ann Brown, and Belinda “Bendy” Cook (Terry); grandchildren, Nicholas McLain “Lain” Hartzog, Elizabeth Scott “Scottie” Brown, Kendall Paige Lambert, Terry “T” Cook, and Mattie Perine Cook; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel Vernon McLain and Clara Pettie; brothers, Chester Ray McLain, Jimmy Ray McLain, Willie Jay McLain, and John Alkus McLain; and sister, Lois Burkett.

Pallbearers were friends and family.
