Charles Alex Henderson, 86, of Greenville, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Dunklin Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 11, in the chapel at the funeral home. Rev. Blair McBride and Rev. Mike Fitzgerald officiated. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Park.

Mr. Henderson was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Eunice Smith Henderson; sisters, Sara Shumway Harrison, Mary Henderson Archer, and Marie Henderson; brothers, Ed Henderson, Conrad Henderson, Jack Henderson, Hubert Henderson, and Phillip Henderson; and grandson, William Alex Lee.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife of 62 years Frances Rogers Henderson; daughters, Jennifer Henderson Lee (Burton), Charlene Henderson Powell (Lynn); son, Charles Todd Henderson; grandsons, Lance Henderson Powell (Meredith) and William Austin Lee; granddaughter, Lauren Virginia Powell; brothers, Wesley Henderson (Reebie Jo) and Wayne Henderson (Bonnie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Chris Henderson, Mike Henderson, Raymond Henderson, Paul Hudgins, Austin Lee, Lance Powell, Michael Thrower, and Roger Thrower.

Honorary pallbearers were Gene Duke, Wayne Harrison, Bob Newton, Billy Rogers, Charles Rogers, Roy Rogers, Steve Rogers, Steve Smith, Robert Thompson, and James Thrower.

The family acknowledges the kindness of a special neighbor Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Campbell and special care provider and friend Ms. Gloris Crenshaw. Additionally, the family is grateful for the exemplary care Mr. Henderson received from Dr. Peter S. Shashy, Dr. Norman F. McGowin, III, Amedisys Home Health, and Crowne Health Care of Greenville.
