FRANCES OWENS BYRD JORDAN

March 6, 1941 – Oct. 17, 2022

Frances Owens Byrd Jordan, age 81, passed away on October 17, 2022 in Melbourne, Fla.

Frances retired from Colonial Mortgage in 2001 at the age of 62. She and husband, Wesley, traveled as much as they could until his death. She was also an active member of East Greenville Baptist Church until 2019 when she moved to Rockledge, Fla., where she attended First Baptist Church of South Brevard. Frances served as choir director and treasurer for many years at East Greenville.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Brother Roy Rogers and Brother Billy Croley officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. The family received friends from 10-11 a.m.  Burial followed in the Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, John Brady and Mollie Ann Owens; her son, Tommy Lanard Byrd; brothers, James Ronald “Ronnie” Owens and Bobby Franklin Owens; husbands, Travis T. Byrd and Wesley Jordan.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Barbara (C.L.) Hatch of Rockledge, Fla., Cynthia (Cindy) (Jerry) Cartwright of Honoraville, and Lisa (Shannon) Price of Highland Home; sister-in-law, Wanda Owens; step-daughter, Jennifer (Gene) Morgan; step-sons, Alan (Teresa) Jordan and Chris (Lori) Jordan; her grandchildren, Rachel Day, Rebecca Hatch, Sarah Daugherty, Alexandria Cartwright, Nicholas Cartwright, Tristan Price, and Connor Price; step-grandchildren, Kristian Jordan, Taylor Jordan, Sandra Jordan, and Cory Jordan; great grandchildren, Chandler Hatch, Haley Day, Amelia Cartwright, Hunter Day, Aaron Daugherty and Carter Daugherty.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews; her very dear friend, Mary Jones; along with many other special friends.

Pallbearers were Nicholas Cartwright, Randy Williams, Hunter Williams, Tristan Price, Connor Price, and Luke Day.
