Vandalyn was a homemaker until the 1960’s when she started working at several post offices in Butler County and became the Postmaster at Forest Home where she and her family have lived since the 1950’s.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Oct. 19, beginning at 10:30 a.m. from the Forest Home Cemetery with Brother Randy Harvill officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Mom always said to give her flowers while she was living so we ask in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation to the Forest Home Cemetery.
Vandalyn had lived at Country Place Memory Care for the past seven years. When she became ill in June, she was transferred to the Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama, then went to Crowne Health Care and Southern Care Hospice. The family would like to thank each one of them for making her last year’s comfortable and feeling cared for. She will be truly missed.
