HELEN EVELYN WOMACK

Helen Womack Funeral Service was held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, from Life Way Ministries at 12 p.m. Bishop E. Lamont Herrington officiated and Hudson Funeral Service directed. Mrs. Helen Evelyn Womack was born Sept. 15, 1932, to the union of the late John F. Cook, Sr. and Rebecca Rhodes Cook.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Edward Womack; three sisters, Dorothy Moorer, Geraldine Cook, and Etta Mae Neal; and one brother, Baine Cook.

She is survived by one devoted and loving sister, Mattie P. Robinson; and one brother, John F. Cook, Jr.

She leaves to cherish eight dedicated children: five sons, Joe C. Womack, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, Robert E. Womack of Wiggins, Miss., Booker T. Womack of Cleveland, Ohio, Chester (Tawanna) Womack of Bristow, Va., and Terry (Simona) Womack of Atlanta; three daughters, Helen Evelyn Merriweather of Mobile, Myra Ann Womack of Mobile, and Bertha (Henry) Crenshaw of Forest Hill.  She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, many great-and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition, she always expressed loving gratitude for the following family and friends:  Rosemary Rudolph, Mary Earl Robinson, Henry Crenshaw, Ruth Stoutamire, Geneva Fails, Martha Savage, Shirley Huff, and Barbara Ann Bedgood.
