Tigers win three

This past week was busy for the Greenville High School Tigers basketball as they faced off against three different high schools in four games.
On Monday, Jan. 22 the GHS Varsity boys headed up against Brewbaker Tech and defeated the Rams in the final minutes of the game 65-60. Chris Martin led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points. He was closely followed by Jadakiss Anderson who had 13 points.
On Tuesday, Jan. 23 Greenville hit the road to face the Luverne Tigers and defeated them handily 69-35. Martin was top in scoring again with 26 points.
Wednesday and Thursday gave the Tiger’s a break with them back on the road again last Friday to face the Brewbaker Rams for the second time in one week. It was another nail-biting game for the Tigers but won 65-63. It was Romontez Rhodes turn to shine as leading scorer with 17 points and Martin not far behind with 10 points.
Saturday evening’s game proved to be another close game for the Tigers as they hosted the Charles Henderson Trojans. The long week proved too much for Greenville as the lost 69-60. Malik Bunch led the Tigers with 13 points. Rhodes had 11 points with Jeremiah Owens right behind him with 10 points.
The Tiger’s final regular season games will come to a close this week. After facing Monroe County on Monday Jan. 29, they will travel to face Wetumpka on Thursday and host Calhoun at home Friday evening.
