Schofield gets four life terms

Allen Wayne Schofield was recently dealt four life sentences, four 30-year sentences and one 20-year sentence by Butler County Circuit Judge Terri Lovell.
Schofield, who is 62 and from Georgiana, was sentenced on July 5, after he was found guilty of first degree sodomy and other sex crimes on June 14.
He was originally arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 on four counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, four counts of sexual abuse first degree, sodomy second degree, sexual abuse second degree and eight counts of sodomy first degree.
One of the alleged victims came forward in March of 2015 to the Butler County’s Sherriff’s Office after nearly 36 years of keeping quiet.
After investigating, the Sheriff’s Department arrested Schofield and he was placed in the Butler County Correctional Facility.
The crimes took place between March 1979-1983. The ages of the children Schofield abused ranged from three to 11.
