Local players named to ASWA All State

Three Butler County basketball players were recently name to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All State team. They are Nasir Cheatham of Georgiana School, Lillie Boggan of Georgiana School, and Brinkley Long of Fort Dale Academy. Cheatham was named 1st Team All State and averaged 19.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He also led the Georgiana Panthers to an Area Championship. It is Cheatham’s third All State selection. Boggan was named 2nd Team All State averaging 20.7 points and 13.4 rebounds per game. It is her third time to be selected to All State. Long was also name 2nd Team All State and averaged 14.3 points and 10 rebounds per game, leading the Fort Dale Eagles to a Region Championship. It is Long’s second time to be named to All State.
