The unofficial election results for the May 19 Primary Election for Butler County was tallied and to follow are the results.

There are 14,206 registered voters in Butler County. In total, 4,533 ballots were cast at polling houses, which resulted in a 31.91 percent turnout.

Offices, candidates, and amendment vote totals were as follows for Democratic and Republican candidates:

Governor (D): Will Boyd (689); Jamel J. Brown (193); Yolanda Rochelle Flowers (39): Doug Jones (813); Chad “Chig” Martin (28); Nathan “Nate” Mathis (8).

Lieutenant Governor (D): Phillip Ensler (1,231); Darryl D. Perryman (439).

United States Senator (D): Dakarai Larriett (1,231); Kyle Sweetser (123); Everett Wess (1,149); Mark S. Wheeler (146).

Public Service Commission Place 1 (D): James O. Gordon (1, 1395); John Northrop (94); Jeff Ramsey (184).

Governor (R): Ken McFeeters (114); “Alabama” Will Santivasci (55); Thomas Tuberville (2,477).

Lieutenant Governor (R): Wes Allen (1,134); Pat Bishop (62); George Childress (38); Rick Pate(437), Stewart Hill Tankersley (58); Nicole Jones (80); John Wahl (704).

There will be a Butler County runoff election on June 16 for: Lieutenant Governor (R) between John Wahl and Wes Allen; U.S. Senator (R) between Barry Moore and Jared Hudson; U.S. Senator (D) between Dakarai Larriett and Everett Wess; Attorney General (R) between Jay Mitchell and Katherine Robertson; Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries (R) between Corey Hill and Christina McInnis; Public Service Commission Place 2 (R) between Chris Beeker and Jim Zig Zeigler:

    It’s SAD that GREENVILLE has such a POOR Voter Turnout. Yet MOST Complain about our town about Crime, POOR Roads & Streets, Inadequate housing, ESPECIALLY for SENIORS, Poor City Services just POOR CITY GOVERNMENT. Taxes at 11%, HIGH Food Prices, HIGH GAS Prices for a small town of some 8000. And WHY is our Population declining !? Too many empty and/or Abandoned houses and Businesses, City Blight and the City does NOTHING to Correct.Control ! And WHY does Greenville have SOOO MANY CONVIENT Stores Owned/Operated by East Indians ?! Greenville is Dying Folks.
