Butler County Health Department a total loss
The Butler County Health Department burned early Sunday morning, June 30. All that remains is a brick wall shell, basically a total loss. According to Butler County EMA Director RosieTill, the fire alarm for the building started around 3:30 a.m. The State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the possible cause of the fire but as yet parts of the building are still smoking as of 9 a.m.. Corey Kirkland, Health Services Administrator Southern District for the Alabama Department of Public Health, indicated that most records were kept in digital format and should be available to WIC clients as well as most other health records not older than 25 years.
