Eagles take down Wildcats

The Fort Academy Eagles hosted the Wildcats of Wilcox Academy this past Friday night and won 28-10.
Wilcox drew first blood on a 44-yard scamper after recovering an Eagle fumble and then completed the two point conversion to make the score 8-0.
On the ensuing kickoff, Eagle Dain Winters received it at the 23-yard line and made his way 77 yards all the way down the field to the end zone. Clay Gardner then completed the point after attempt (PAT) to make bring the Eagles within one point.
The Wildcats then took the kickoff and marched to the Eagles’ one yard line before fumbling the ball which was recovered by Asher Young.
On the next play, Cole Salter was caught behind the goal line and the Eagles suffered a safety making the score 10-7.
After the safety, the Eagles settled in for some hard nosed football and scored on a five yard run by Winters with 2:56 left in the half. Gardner again completed the PAT to make the score 14-10.
After halftime, Jackson Black would score in third quarter on a one yard run and then again in the fourth quarter on a 39-yard rumble. Gardner would complete both PATs.
As the clock wound down, Corey Salter took a knee and the game ended with another victory for the Eagles 28-10.
Offensive leaders for Fort Dale were Cole Salter with 21 rushes for 105 yards. Black would rush six times for 63 yards and two touchdowns. Winters had 136 total yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, Brock Tolson and Black had four solo tackles each.
Fort Dale, now 7-2, next travel to face the Edgewood Academy Wildcats who are 4-5 overall after recently defeating Abbeville Christian 33-14.
