Hank talent show June 1

The 3rd annual Hank Williams Sr. Talent Showcase, presented by the Georgiana Opry House, is a showcase featuring young independent musicians of all genres from across the Black Belt and Alabama with a winner going to Nashville for a single recording.

The Talent Showcase competition is held in Georgiana at the Georgiana Opry House and a tribute to Hank. The Opry House honors Hank with the 3rd annual regional talent competition where contestants will be judged based on their vocal talent by music industry professionals.

Opry House owner Tracy Eason said, “One of our goals at the Georgiana Opry House is to recognize young artists within the Black Belt of Alabama and we hope that this event will bring attention to the existing arts community and promote engagement with cultural organizations in Alabama.”

Last year’s winner Brant McCollough, a 17-year old from Samson and a quarterback from Kinston High School, earned an opportunity to perform in Hollywood on the show American Idol after winning 1st Prize in 2024 at the 2nd Annual Hank Williams Sr. Talent Showcase.

Brant went to Nashville to recored the single “Til Then” which was produced by Pat Holt on Grace Records Label.

Til Then charted 54th on the Cash Box Top 100 Independent Artist February 2025.

Summer Waters was the Miss Autauga County Fair winner and a Miss Alabama Beauty Pageant Contestant before winning 2nd place in 2024 at the 2nd Annual Hank Williams Sr. Talent Showcase.

Since appearing on the Talent Showcase she has produced the Single “In Love With Your Ghost” now on Apple Music.

The Talent Showcase aims to give young artists from across the Alabama Black Belt region a chance to express their passion and connect them with music industry professionals who can give them the tools they need to cultivate their skills.

Eason said “We are thrilled to offer opportunities for our community’s youth to grow and thrive in music. If you or someone you know has talent and dreamed of pursuing your talents as a singer, this could be your chance.”

The live Talent Show competition will be held Sunday, June 1, at 5 p.m. from the Georgiana Opry House.
