Eagles ground Jets

The 3A Fort Dale Academy Eagles hosted the Columbia, scarlet, and white 3A Banks Academy Jets of Birmingham this past Friday evening for homecoming and won easily 36-14 in a non-region game.
The Eagles drew first blood at the end of the first quarter when Eagle quarterback Blake Slagley scored on a 21-yard rush.
The Jets would answer on the kickoff and return it for a touchdown and two point conversion to make the game 8-7.
Fort Dale’s next score would come in the second quarter on 57-yard pass from Slagley to Kemper Waters who would also completed the point after attempt (PAT) making the score 14-8 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Eagles added two touchdowns by Slagley who scored on 21 and 24-yard scampers.
The Jets last points would come late in the quarter on a kickoff return to make the score 29-14.
Eagle Jackson Black earned FDA their final score of the game, in the fourth quarter, on a 1-yard carry.
For the game, the Eagles would amass 390 total yards of offense to the Jets 84.
Offensively, Slagley continued his leadership with three touchdowns, 144 rushing and 93 passing yards. Isaac Lowery rushed 20 times for 111 yards.
Defensively, Logan Skipper led with four tackles; Lowery had three. Both Parker Crenshaw and Matthew Carter intercepted a pass.
Fort Dale, now 4-1, will host the blue and gray 3A Chambers Academy Rebels this Friday evening in a non-region game.
The Rebels are 5-1 on the season and will be sporting a fresh win over Lowndes Academy 27-0.
