GPRD baseball all-stars make noise in Troy

The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department Dixie Baseball All-Stars made noise in Troy this past weekend with several teams placing second and advancing to the state tournament while others are still vying for a district championship.
Greenville 12U All-Stars lost their opening game to Eufaula and then defeated Troy 13-1 and followed up beating Troy again 5-1. They faced Eufaula Monday evening for the district championship.
Players with notable mention are Austin Heartsill, Easton and Weston Booker, Rylan Watson, Ryan Scott, Conley Henderson, and Braxton Willis.
Greenville 10U All-Stars opened Thursday with a thrilling victory over Eufaula 15-14 in extra innings. They then lost to Troy 6-1 and had to play them again in succession and avenged their loss 7-4. Greenville faced Eufaula Monday for the district championship.
Players with notable mention are Alton Pierce, Owen Greenwood, Dakari Carter, Tarrus Griffin, Luke Anthony, Maisen Reeves, Jaxon Clanton, Winston Wiggins, and Emmett Sexton.
Greenville 8U All-Stars began play against Eufaula on Thursday and won in a shutout 7-0. On Saturday, they lost two games to Troy but placed second and qualified for the state tournament.
Players with notable mention are Nathan Heartsill, Elijah Salter, and Travales Smith, Jr.
Greenville 6U All-Stars lost to Troy on Thursday and beat Slocomb 18-11 on Friday. Though they finished second in the tourney, it was enough to qualify for the state tournament.
Players with notable mention are BJ Smith, Rhett Moseley, Stinson Johnson, Cohen Pugh, Connor Roebuck, and Ryker Stephenson.
