The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce’s 250th July 4th celebration this year was an incredible success!
It was an incredible afternoon and evening despite the heat had the old Greenville football stadium played host to the momentous occasion.
The celebration was filled with games, music, food, fireworks and of course our veterans. Mayor Jaquez Green was on hand and participated in some of the games.
WQZX Q94 Radio show host Kyle Haynes and David Norrell of the Kyle and Dave morning show lead the celebration along with the Chamber of Commerce Director Tracy Salter and her crew.
The celebration included paying homage to our honored veterans who were called to the center of the field.
Each veteran got the opportunity to give their name, rank and service in which they served passing the microphone.
Joann Mathews of Southern Hospice honored each veteran with a challenge coin. The words of Kyle Haynes filled the air with his solemn statement saying, “If it were not for our men and woman that have served our country in the military to include the men and woman you see before you today there would be no celebration, there would be no country or the freedoms we take for granted today. Thank you!”
A standing ovation was given by the gracious crowd in attendance.
The celebration continued with all the festivities until the absolutely grand display of fireworks for the finally began. It was incredible evening and day.
