Fort Dale Academy soared away with a win Friday night in a season opener against Evangel Christian Academy.

Fort Dale QB Luke Taylor ran for a 6-yard touchdown to put Fort Dale on the board first. In the second quarter Andrew Salter ran for a 4-yard touchdown, William Crenshaw’s kick for the extra point was good. Taylor ran the ball 4-yards for another touchdown, the extra points was good. The score at half-time was 20-0.

Andrew Salter opened the fourth quarter with an 11-yard run, the extra point was good. Luke Taylor threw a 34-yard pass that connected with Lance Powell for another Eagle touchdown. At the end of the third quarter Zach Kendrick had a 10-yard run for yet another Eagle touchdown, the extra point was good. The score at the end of the third quarter was 40-0.

Evangel came alive in the middle of the fourth quarter with a 19-yard run for a touchdown, the extra point was no good. With just minutes left in the quarter Evangel had a 32-yard run for a touchdown, the extra point was no good. Fort Dale left Montgomery with a 40-12 win.

Fort Dale held Evangel to a total of 99-yards rushing and 46-yards passing. Evangel could not contain the Eagles allowing them to rack 273-yards rushing and 115 passing yards.
