The McKenzie Tigers football team travelled to Sweet Water High School last Friday night for -the first round of 1A state playoffs. However, they did not get the outcome they hoped for losing to the Bulldogs 47-6.

“We had a hard time getting the offense going and executing,” said Coach Tony Norris. “Sweet Water is a good football team and they go in to each game and expect to win.”

“Overall we had a good season,” said Coach Norris. “We have nothing to be ashamed of, but we didn’t finish strong like I wanted us to.”

“I appreciate the players and coaches hard work this year,” said Coach Norris. “Now we have to focus on next year. We have to get in the weight room and get stronger. I feel like we have a good core returning to the team next year. I am excited to see what they will do next year.”

McKenzie ended the year with a 7-4 overall record.
