Benson, Jr., Gerald Wayne, 55, a resident of Greenville died on Dec. 1. A memorial service was held Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Reverend Chase Clower and Reverend Jerry Wilkinson officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home announcing.
Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Wayne was born Aug. 26, 1961.
He is survived by his parents Gerald and Frances Benson; sister, Leah (Tony) Stonicher; brother, Hal (Deedra) Benson; stepson, Cory (Lauren) Latham; granddaughter, Isabella Latham; nieces, Grace (Hunter) Harrell, Colby Benson, Ava Casey Benson and Savannah Stonicher; nephews, Benson Stonicher, Max Stonicher and Clay Benson. He leaves behind three precious dogs, Mollie, Patches and Bella.
Wayne was a 1979 graduate of Greenville High School. He worked most of his career at Stabler Clinic as an X-Ray technician for 28 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville. Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman. Wayne was a gentle and kind soul. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Craig, Craig McNaughton, Kevin Ordoyne, Larry Philpot, Gray Vinson, Ronnie Idland and Sam Wilson.
